Weekend in the Great Outdoors

Sounds like I actually went camping, huh?? Yeah, right. I just meant that we spent a lot of time outside. Scott got us tickets several weeks ago to the Arkansas Naturals game Friday night, not knowing that it would be FREEZING! We decided to go anyway and enjoy doing something as a family. We took our jackets and blankets, and it actually wasn't too bad. We love the fact that the new field is so close to our house, and we'll definitely go some more this summer when it's not in the 40's! We got out today and went to Razorfest. Wow - crowded would be a definite understatement. The cool thing was, we saw friends and co-workers that we hadn't seen in years! And the weather was beautiful (just like the saying goes - "If you don't like the weather in Arkansas, just wait an hour..... it'll change!"). Here are some pics from our fun day -

High School Musical - On Ice!

Holland's birthday was in January, but this year instead of toys that would've been long forgotten by now, we got her tickets to see High School Musical on Ice in Little Rock. I talked to my friend Leslie, and we decided to make it a "girls trip". What a great time it was! We left on Friday and met Grant, Mandie, and Gavin for supper and then spent the night at their house since they live only a few minutes from Alltel Arena. (Thanks for letting us crash at your place, guys!) The show was fantastic! We had incredible seats, 4th row from the ice which were great for seeing the show, but cold for the bodies! Notice the photo of Lauren and Holland hugging the lightpost to warm up after the show....

Payton funny

Since it's such a beautiful day, I told the girls they needed to go outside and enjoy it. They said they were going to ride their bikes to the bottom of the hill and throw rocks. I told them they needed to stay where I could see them, otherwise someone might come by and pick them up and take them away. Payton said, "Someone would really do that?", and I said, "Yes, it's called kidnapping". She said, "Oh yeah, I've heard of that. It's not my favorite thing".

Oldie, but a goodie: One day on the way to school Payton said, "I don't really know yet what I want to be when I grow up. I can't decide between a paleontologist and a worker at Build-A-Bear".
